In the formation of artefacts I have let myself be led by that invisible force which (often displaying a will of its own) dictates our behaviour and teaches us to see and understand things outside our perception and comprehension. The talismans, then, are closely linked with magic and art is a child of magic, or at least its creative component. Take the magic away and this artefacts would be nothing more but objects, dead witnesses of futile effort to give meaning to a thought and to materialize it. That is why in my work, the talisman magic intertwines with art creation, enchanted by its symbols, its energy and dynamics, opening up into a different, immaterial and transcendental world. The objects are permeated by (magic) energy, so they can be considered sacred or consecrated. Their inward dimension is larger than the outward one, allowing them to transcend the mere function of aesthetic functionality. In fact, a special relationship is created beyond doubt between the owner an its talisman: the energy radiated by the talisman affects the owner, transforming her/him in harmony with the main orientation, written in the astral.
My main material is papier-mâché treated in various ways and combined with wood, clay, various metals, semi-precious stones, raw or treated stones and polyester. Finished, painted, patinated and varnished sculptures have surfaces of different roughness (depending on the desired effect) and are as hard as but at the same time also lighter than wood.
